Ok, we finally get to the Davin (from here on in Ming) and Anna-Lise Wedding. Better know as a the Skittles or the Rainbow wedding (take your pick).

Ayinde met with Ming & Anna-Lise some time ago, that day (unfortunately) I pulled up just as they were walking out the door and we really didn’t have time to talk. Fortunately, Anna-Lise’s personality is just really bubbly…I mean, you can see it in the photos and Ming is just a very, very, very cool customer, so even though I didn’t “meet” them before, the day of the wedding it felt like I was with couple I had known for while. They kinda just fit.

Now, considering that, it makes sense that their decor, dresses, ties, favors, even the groomsmen socks were rainbow coloured. It seemed to be an apt reflection of both Anna-Lise and Ming. Ming is the calm after the rain, the still, constant appearing of the sun and Anna-Lise is the bright and cheerful but almost entrancing spectacle of the rainbow…or something like that.

The one thing that stood out and stayed with me, was one speech about Ming…I’m not sure who gave it but it really spoke to the heart if the man and his care for others, I think the story goes; he had some workmen working on a construction project and the rain began to fall heavily, the workmen pressed through the conditions and finished the job but Ming was saddened by the whole situation and he expressed “No one should have to work that hard”. Now I don’t really know Ming except for our interactions on the wedding day but in that moment I gained great respect for him.

At any rate, it was an excellent wedding, from the impromptu first look, to the tassa, to the man himself, Swappi (inna 4D).

Congratulations Anna-Lise and Ming
